This year I invited my friend Jenny round to carve pumpkins with me. Hers was a normal sized pumpkin and was well and truly shadowed by my 10kg beast.

Jenny - pumpkin carving extraordinaire (right) was carving the Corpse Bride! |
To prove how large and thick my pumpkin was I took this photo....
The core was so thick that there was barely any goo to scoop out with a spoon and I knew I wasn't going to be able to get the knife through the skin to even carve the pumpkin, so I cut off the thickest part of the innards and put it in a bowl, then made pumpkin risotto!

Jenny brought with her the best pumpkin carving equipment, ever! She had tiny little saws which mean I could cut the spiral eyes without accidentally cutting them off. The first pumpkin I've made without having to staple gun it back together!
The final product! I think it looks a little New Orleans-like!
